ABOUT US

The Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation form the largest tribal group in the state of Washington by enrolled members. The reservation they own, at 1.2 million acres, is the second largest in the state. This land is a small part of tribal lands ceded to the U.S. government in the treaty of 1855.

The bands and tribes in the Yakama confederation are the Yakama, Palouse, Pisquose, Wenatshapam, Klikatat, Klinquit, Kow-was-say-ee, Li-ay-was, Skin-pah, Wish-ham, Shyiks, Oche-chotes, Kah-mult-pa and Se-ap-cat.

The Yakama Nation Vitals serves to inform tribal members and interested parties about the conditions of life on the Yakama Indian Reservation. Measures covered are trends in demography, economic vitality, education, and natural resources.
