ECONOMIC VITALITY

A vibrant people rarely exists without a solid economic base. Health and well-being initiatives usually depend on some material support.

This section of the Vitals tracks key economic measures on the Yakama Nation reservation via data that come from annual surveys by the U.S. Census. Consequently, the indicators are estimates. Due to Census rules, the estimates appear as averages or medians calculated each year that include the prior four years. Estimates for Yakima County serve as a benchmark.

Indicator areas covered include income, poverty, occupation distribution and employer types. A full definition of each indicator can be found in the More Information section. The data are available in a spreadsheet via the Download Data tab.
