EDUCATION

The future of any people rests with the preparation of the young generations. Families, tribal initiatives and schools all serve to ensure that the next generation is ready.

This section of the Vitals presents key measures of education preparedness on the Yakama Nation reservation. Some data come from annual surveys by the U.S. Census. Consequently, the indicators are estimates. Due to Census rules, the estimates appear as averages or medians calculated each year that include the prior four years. Other data have been made available by the Tribal School. Estimates for Yakima County serve as a benchmark.

Areas covered include early learning, educational attainment of the adult population and a selection from the Tribal School. A full definition of each indicator can be found in the More Information section. The data are available in a spreadsheet via the Download Data tab.
