PEOPLE

Understanding a people starts with understanding its essential demographics: How large is the population? How fast is it growing? What, and how large, are the various dimensions of the population, such as age and race?

This section of the Vitals offers an introduction to Yakama Nation reservation population via data that come from annual surveys by the U.S. Census. Consequently, the indicators are estimates. Due to Census rules, the estimates appear as averages or medians calculated each year that include the prior four years. Estimates for Yakima County serve as a benchmark.

A full definition of each indicator can be found in the More Information section. The data are available in a spreadsheet via the Download Data tab.
