HOUSING

Shelter is one of the fundamental needs of a people. Without decent shelter, residents suffer economically, educationally and health-wise.

This section offers a variety of indicators via data that come from annual surveys by the U.S. Census. Consequently, the indicators are estimates. Due to Census rules, the estimates appear as averages or medians calculated each year that include the prior four years. Estimates for Yakima County serve as a benchmark.

A full definition of each indicator can be found in the More Information section. The data are available in a spreadsheet via the Download Data tab.
